Our goal since day one!
So, it's official. Ohana Mua is now a Certified B Corporation.
You might start to spot a little "B" on our website, our emails, and our socials. It's small, but it means a lot to us, and here's why.
Why it matters to us and what it looks like
From day one, we set out to commit to the gold standard as a sustainable business. Certification is simply how we hold ourselves to it.
This was never about a badge. It's about proving, properly and independently, that the values we talk about are real. No greenwashing. Just an honest, verified account of how we operate, and where we can still do better.
Our score, in the open
Certification is based on the B Impact™ Assessment, which looks at five areas of a business: governance, workers, community, environment, and customers.
We scored 90.7 overall. A business needs 80 to certify, and the median score for a typical business is 50.9. We're certified on version 1.6 of the standards, and we'll recertify under the new ones in future. It's a beginning, not a finish line.
It takes all of us
Here's the thing about a B Corp: it looks at the whole business, so this score belongs to everyone. It reflects how we look after our team, the partners we choose, the way we welcome every guest, and the hundred small decisions made each day that no assessment could ever see. Keeping it will be a team effort too, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you, to all of you.
Where we go from here
Certification raises the bar, and now the job is to keep clearing it. We'll recertify, keep measuring, and keep improving. And we'll hold our second destination, South View in Devon, and every one after it, to exactly the same standard.
