Creating energy positive holiday destinations
Good times for all with a greener footprint
We’re committed to new-style staycations that give back and have big ideas to create the energy positive holiday destinations of the future; redefining industry standards for sustainability and innovation.
No greenwashing here. Our ethos hones in on four key areas (energy, water and waste, wellbeing, design) providing honest clarity on what we’re doing now and what we’re dreaming up next. We’re also growing our Ohana; creating lasting partnerships with charities, local organisations, brands and businesses that share our passion for our planet.

Eco-conscious holidays at The Vale
Our sustainability story starts with The Vale. Here, we’re rewriting the script and exploring what the true potential of what a planet-friendly staycation could be. Powered by solar and enhanced with eco-friendly innovations, The Vale has been carefully renovated into a collection of contemporary lodges and cottages. Setting the scene for effortless energy efficiency and an exceptional guest experience.

Sustainability in action at The Vale

Solar power
We’ve invested heavily in solar panels and battery systems to reduce reliance on traditional energy sources. Our goal is for every lodge to run entirely on solar power, with cottages optimised wherever possible. These steps cut emissions and costs, and more innovations are already planned for the future.

A reduced carbon footprint
We’ve added LED lighting, high-quality insulation, and new doors and windows to improve efficiency. Oil heating has been removed from our cottages, while lodges now feature infrared panels to cut CO₂ emissions and improve air quality. These upgrades reduce energy use and avoid chemicals or fuels.

Water usage
We’ve made careful choices to reduce water use without compromising comfort. Copper bathtubs in our lodges use far less water than hot tubs, while cottages feature Jacuzzi CLEARRAY™ systems for cleaner, energy-efficient soaks. Every decision supports wellness and sustainability.

Getting the basics right
We’ve set up recycling systems, opted for energy efficient appliances (including Ninja barbecues) and installed EV charging points for peace of mind. And because details matter, we’ve opted for Faith in Nature toiletries, Who Gives a Crap loo roll and Bio-D dishwasher tablets.

A unique renovation
When we originally acquired The Vale it was a much loved (but currently unused) traditional holiday park. Following our investment of over half a million pounds it’s now an inclusive, accessible, sustainable destination and the first chapter in our story. It’s our blueprint for future spaces.
